VintageMitch still going strong!
A few days ago, we enjoyed a visit from Mr. Vintage Mitch himself, Preston Mitchell! He is the source of the Mitchell Archive (VintageMitch), a stock collection at ogradyimages.com and Margaret O’Grady’s photography mentor. He took a look at a few of his photos taken in his 40 year career as a commercial photographer and we shared some good memories! He may be nearing 90 years old and “retired,” but he’s busier than most people at half his age! He still maintains his craft, shooting assignments and using Adobe Photoshop instead of the darkroom. Last November, his fine art was shown in the Berryman Gallery in Medford, Oregon. But his real focus for the last 20 years is music! He’s busy with rehearsals and gigs 3 or 4 days a week. A lifelong musician, Preston plays many instruments including the tuba, recorder, clarinet, flute, Irish tin whistle, ocarina and string bass. He’s in several groups including The Dixie Fat Cats (www.dixiefatcats.org) and the Ashland City Band (www.ashlandband.org).
