Stock Photography-VintageMitch still going strong!

VintageMitch still going strong!

A few days ago, we enjoyed a visit from Mr. Vintage Mitch himself, Preston Mitchell! He is the source of the Mitchell Archive (VintageMitch), a stock collection at ogradyimages.com and Margaret O’Grady’s photography mentor. He took a look at a few of his photos taken in his 40 year career as a commercial photographer and we shared some good memories! He may be nearing 90 years old and “retired,” but he’s busier than most people at half his age! He still maintains his craft, shooting assignments and using Adobe Photoshop instead of the darkroom. Last November, his fine art was shown in the Berryman Gallery in Medford, Oregon. But his real focus for the last 20 years is music! He’s busy with rehearsals and gigs 3 or 4 days a week. A lifelong musician, Preston plays many instruments including the tuba, recorder, clarinet, flute, Irish tin whistle, ocarina and string bass. He’s in several groups including The Dixie Fat Cats (www.dixiefatcats.org) and the Ashland City Band (www.ashlandband.org).

Stock Photo of the Day

I read an article in the Wall Street Journal regarding save the 76 ball and thought this stock photo was fitting.
Here is a service station attendant from the 1950's before Union Oil had introduced the "76 Ball". This was when a service station offered service, not just gas and some hotdogs and beer ( I like hotdogs and beer though). This image is part of ogradyimages.com Stock Photography from the VintageMitch archive. This image probably shot somewhere around Whittier California, a small town near Los Angeles.

Vintage Stock Photo of the Day

Once again it is Friday so I thought I'd keep with tradition and post another shot of a woman pouring wine into a decanter from a group of Oak wine casks. Again we see this wine is dispensed by a fabulous sixties era model. Ahh, the weekend is almost here. Here is a vintage photo from the VintageMitch archive of ogradyimages http://www.ogradyimages.com.
